This short library video will show you how to charge out a book using the self-checkout machine.
- Place your University of Guelph card under the scanner so that the scanline -- that red laser that shoots out of the bottom of the machine - touches the barcode.
- Remove when prompted
- Now, scan the barcode of the item by placing it under scanline. This works best if you slowly slide the book toward the scanner using the V-shaped groove. The barcode can be found on the inside cover.
- Repeat this step for each item you are charging out.
At any time you can check your account by pressing the "Account" button on the touch-screen. The machine will display account information like number of checked out times, fines and fees, and number of messages. When you are finished end the process by pressing "Print Receipt" or "No Receipt" on the touch screen.
