Get Full-Text Articles in One Click with LibKey Nomad

LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that helps you connect quickly to the full text of articles you find on popular websites, like PubMed, Google Scholar, and Wikipedia. To get started, download the LibKey Nomad extension for your browser. It’s compatible with Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and others. Once the extension is installed, you can also pin it to your browser toolbar for ease of use. In Chrome, this is done by clicking the puzzle piece icon located at the top right of the toolbar, and then clicking the pin icon located next to LibKey Nomad. After installation, simply select your institution— University of Guelph—from the list. Once that’s done, you’re ready to go. As you search for articles, LibKey Nomad will run quietly in the background, checking for the best way to get you full-text access. When you find an article, LibKey Nomad will show you several options: A Download PDF link, if the article is available directly, An Article Link that will take you to the publisher’s site, Or an Access Options button, which lets you request the article from the library if we don’t have it. With just one click, you can access the article you need, whether it's from our library’s collection or an open-access source. You’ll know LibKey Nomad is working when you see the green flame icon in your browser’s toolbar.
